Programs

Early Childhood Education:

• A three year program for 3 to 6 year olds, with the third year equivalent to kindergarten
  
  
• Class size approximately 20-23 children, with two teachers per classroom
  
  
• We will soon be offering a flexible schedule for parents that do not want to enroll their child in a 5 day program. We now offer enrollment for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days a week. Children can enroll in a combination of half days 9:00am -12:30pm, full days 9:00am-3:00pm and extended care 8:00am-6:00pm.

The main goal for the preschool child is to learn to work independently, to take care of one's needs (dress oneself, etc.) and develop a good self image. Children have different interests at different times. Montessori teachers respect these differences and have unique expectations for each child. In the Montessori preschool, we prepare the environment for enriched learning experiences and then we "follow the child."

In addition to following the Montessori curriculum, preschoolers learn about grace and courtesy, music, movement, and art. We frequently have resource teachers come in to share their talent in a specific area.
